"Innovations in Sports Infrastructure-Options" Booklet released by Hon'ble Speaker of Kerala Shri.G.Karthikeyan in the presence of Hon'ble Minister of Sports and MLAs

An initiative to create modern sports training facilities....

• The Government of Kerala is hosting the 35th National Games and this is seen as a great opportunity to bring about a significant change in the sports infrastructure landscape of Kerala.
• There has been a long felt need to upgrade the quality of sports facilities vis -a -vis those available worldwide so that the abundant talents of Kerala would taste the benefits of internationally accepted sports surfaces.
• Moreover, the large segments of talents among the rural folk do not have access to any such modern sports facilities.
• While it is our primary task to provide such modern facilities across the State, the concept of providing these in a modular format prompted  us to visualize  cost effective sports facilities of international quality.
• MPs and MLAs of the State and also the Local Self Government Institutions could utilize the expertise of the National Games Secretariat in such sports infrastructure planning. Further, the funds available with local bodies under the PYKKA scheme could also be tapped for the development of these modular sports facilities along with available Local Area Development funds as per the budget.
