Fairs and Festivals:

Kerala is famous for its festivals and fairs. Onam and Vishu are two important festivals of the mainstream segment of the society. But minority communities also participate in these festivals. Christmas, Easter, Miladi Sherif, Muharam, Ramadan, Bakrid etc celebrated by the minority communities witness the whole-hearted participation of the mainstream community. Every place of worship, big or small, has its own festivals and one will find that all sections of community participate in those festivals. In Kerala big marketing events are celebrated as festivals. Thus we have today’s Grand Kerala Shopping Festival, which is celebrated in December – January.
